Have you seen our new website? Designed by Alyssa Prophet and board member Whit Whitney, it looks spiffy and modern and is user-friendly. Even I find it easy to navigate. Check it out, and let us know what you think.
The board continues to grow in numbers and in strength as we welcome our newest member, Kat Gore. (See page 15 to learn more.) Kat will be our social media coordinator. Thanks to Jeanette LeTourneux, our Facebook page has been active for years; now, with Kat’s help, our online presence will be augmented and strengthened. Go to our Facebook page to see what I mean.
Thanks to the efforts of board member Lynn Towns, we are gearing up for our volunteers’ thank-you party at Red Lily. If you are one of the many people who help keep the Applegater a vibrant presence in the community through regular volunteer work—writing articles, sending photos, distributing papers, serving on the board, or helping in other ways—you will be receiving an invitation. We hope you’ll plan to come. It’s our way of saying, “Thank you, thank you, thank you. We appreciate you!”
The board is regretfully saying farewell to Greg Stanko, who is stepping down from the board due to life’s complications (something we can all relate to!). He gave the board good energy while he was with us. We wish him well going forward.
Finally, I want to slip in a reminder that NewsMatch is coming up in November, when donations that come in during November and December are doubled by the NewsMatch grant. That’s the time to donate! We’ll send out a reminder edition of the Applegater in November.
