Get Involved

The Applegater has always been more than a newsmagazine;

it's a community effort. Every story, photo, donation, and volunteer hour is what keeps this publication free, independent, and in every mailbox across the valley. Whether you have five dollars, five hours, or five hundred words to give, there's a place for you here.

You don't need to be a professional writer or photographer to appear in these pages—you just need a story worth telling. We publish original work from Applegate community members every season on topics ranging from local news and nature to arts, history, and opinion.

For over 32 years, the Applegater has been free to every household in

the valley. That's only possible because readers like you chip in. Every contribution — large or small — goes directly toward keeping local journalism alive in the Applegate.
