We are gearing up for a few months of activities at the Upper Applegate Grange. By the time this article makes its way to your mailbox, our 2nd Anniversary Celebration will already be done and over. This year we chose to host an open mic night with a $10 taco bar to mark the occasion.
We hope you’ll join us for the next event: our second annual Harvest Festival during Jacksaphine Count(r) y Fair week on Saturday, September 26, from 1-5 pm. We’ll have local vendors, live music from members of the Southern Oregon Songwriters Association, a pie auction, and our homemade smoker puffing away to fill your bellies with good food.
October brings the apple harvest, which we’ll celebrate by hosting the Grange Apple Jam and Chili Cook Off. The apple press will be squeezing juice from 11 am-4 pm, so make sure to bring your bounty (pro tip: bring your apples already quartered) and take home some fresh-squeezed apple juice (in your own jugs, of course). We will also have pressed apple juice for sale, as well as several apple-licious treats. Sign-ups for the chili cook-off will come out in September—keep an eye on our Facebook page and emails for that link. We are looking for musicians for this event as well, so please reach out if that is you!
We are thrilled to report that the Ruch Holiday Market has decided to host its seventh annual market here at the Grange! The market is rich with local artisan vendors, good food, live music, and community vibes. If you’re interested in vending at that event or playing music, please shoot me an email at squirrel.medicine.pottery@ gmail.com.
We’ll wrap up the year of events on Saturday, December 5, with a Holiday Bingo Night. Wear your festive sweater, bring cash and your appetite, and get ready to win! We hope to see you at the Grange!
